Cleaning is quite burdensome for weekly usage. It's a nice looking decanter thin & elegant prone to breakage; for it to retain its understated elegance spotless is a must. Hence upkeep is such a chore. Now & then I would break my Vinum glasses while hand-cleaning or drying them this decanter has presented even a greater challenge.
Unlike wine glasses thinness serves both aestheticism AND functionality; it is purely aesthetic and nothing more when it comes to decanter. Therefore I personally thought the Schott Zwiesel Classico Decanter also German made is a better option for regular usage because on top of being relatively though not quite as thin it's durable due to its titanium content.
Now let's say to add more "oom" to your wine experience you don't mind painstakingly cleaning it afterwards then pricier Riedel decanters the "O" model for one among others are a lot more visually striking.
In short balancing between aestheticism and utility this is a good but not great decanter considering other alternatives. 3.5 stars.
